PRIVATE SECTOR FOUNDATION UGANDA SIGNS MoU WITH NITA-U TO FIGHT CORRUPTION
Private sector foundation Uganda has signed an MOU with NITA -U on mutual cooperation in strategic matters of digitization. The MOU will facilitate strategic developments in ICT among others: data integration, capacity building, to benefit the wider private sector fraternity.
The three year skills and attitude development project which also aims at fighting corruption , according to the CEO of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda , Mr. Stephen Asiimwe is intended to create a conducive business environment .
“The private sector has identified governance and corruption as one of the three critical obstacles to doing business in Uganda . the vice complicates business, discourages foreign and domestic investments and inhibits job creation ,” Asiimwe said adding that this ultimately slows down the country’s economic growth and development where public procurement in particular is affected by corruption.

The project will support private sector players like companies to embrace electronic government procurement to eliminate human contact in the procurement process.
