Police boss IGP Byakagaba, Urges Teamwork and Excellence as 12 Senior Officers Receive Promotion to AIGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abbas Byakagaba, has urged the newly promoted police officers to work towards excellence and serve the Ugandan people with dedication . He also called for team and strict adherence to professionalism upon being promoted to the of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) .
Byabakama was presiding over the peeping ceremony held at the Naguru Police Headquarters.
The IGP noted that the Uganda Police Force, under his leadership, cannot function effectively without the combined efforts of all officers in the rank and file of the force to ensure peace and stability of Uganda..
“You are joining a team, and no one can succeed alone,” Byakagaba said, “Each member of this team, from the highest to the lowest rank, plays a critical role in the success of our mission.”
A total of 12 senior officers were decorated with the new rank of AIGP, representing a blend of experience, expertise, and youthful energy. Byakagaba said that the new appointees reflect a perfect mix of seasoned professionals and dynamic leaders who are prepared to take on the task of building a better Uganda.
The promoted officers were reminded of their key responsibilities in the implementation of national projects such as the Parish Development Model and the Emyoga program, both of which are vital to the government’s vision of improving the welfare of Ugandans.
“You will be at the forefront of these initiatives, and I urge you to ensure their success through proper supervision, dedication, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity,” Byakagaba said.
The IGP also emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline within the force, urging the new AIGPs to oversee the welfare of their subordinates while remaining committed to a corruption-free environment. He reminded them that public trust in the police is critical to the force’s credibility and effectiveness.
The newly promoted officers are ,AIGP Moses Kabugo Kafeero, AIGP Dr. Hadijah Namutebi, AIGP Frank Mwesigwa, AIGP Charles Kataratambi, AIGP Felix Baryamwisaki, AIGP Wasswa David Ssengendo, AIGP Geoffrey Musana, AIGP Ubaldo Bamunoba, AIGP Steven Tanui, AIGP Joseph Obwona, AIGP Lawrence Nuwabine and AIGP James Apora
AIGP Wasswa David Ssengendo, the Director of Counter Terrorism, spoke on behalf of the promoted officers and vowed that they would work diligently and with integrity to fulfill the Uganda Police Force’s mandate to secure the country’s sustainable development.
“We are committed to delivering on our responsibilities with excellence, and we pledge to be catalysts of positive change within the Uganda Police Force,” said Ssengendo.
