NRM Seceretary General ,Justine Kasule Lumumba, has tested positive Covid-19.News of the SG’s affliction was broken by Party Treasurer who is also Kasule Lumumba’s close friend, Rose Namayanja.Kasule decided to go into self isolation when two of her handlers tested positive six days ago.
She initially tested negative until Saturday when her results were positive. Namayanja has however, said that Kasule is asymptomatic, is in excellent spirits and is working online at her normal pace. The party treasurer has taken the occasion to remind Ugandans to be cautious, keep observing the Standard Operating Procedure as issued by the ministry of health.
Kasule was conspicuously but understandably absent from President Museveni’s meetings in Busoga sub-region in the last two days. Sources told ugandaupdatenew.com that several NRM party top honchos are now in self isolation including the Director of Information , Emmanuel Dombo .
There has been a marked spike in the number of Covid-19 cases across the country largely attributed to the on-going campaigns for the general election where many candidates have flouted the guidelines set up by the Ministry of Health and the Electoral Commission . Now health experts fear that Uganda will experienced the worst Covid-19 scenarios in the month of January 2021.
