Museveni To Disolve Cabinet Ahead Of His Presidential Swearing In Ceremony On Tuesday

Uganda’s long serving President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has dissolved the 2021–2026 cabinet ahead of his swearing in ceremony slated for Tuesday May 12th , 2026 at the Kololo Independence grounds .

In a tweet on his X officla account Museveni said that he had chaired the final cabinet meeting of the outgoing government and later hosted members to a luncheon in appreciation of their dedicated service to the country.

” This is the cabinet that ushered Uganda into middle-income status, and I thank everyone who contributed to this achievement, including the Cabinet Secretariat for effectively managing the business of cabinet,” he stated .

The President also acknowledged the team’s role in the recent electoral process, describing the outcome as a collective achievement, while expressing confidence in continued economic growth in the coming term.

On the other hand, President Museveni emphasised the need for strong ethical leadership, calling for renewed commitment to integrity, accountability, and patriotism in public service.

It is expected that Museveni will name a new cabinent with the big problem of corruption and poor utilisation of government resources to deliver big projects on time a

During the event, President Museveni commended members for their service and contribution to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

He also praised the cabinet for its historic role in steering the country to middle-income status, noting that the milestone reflects collective effort, discipline, and commitment.

The President also acknowledged the team’s role in the recent electoral process, describing the outcome as a collective achievement, while expressing confidence in continued economic growth in the coming term.

On the other hand, President Museveni emphasised the need for strong ethical leadership, calling for renewed commitment to integrity, accountability, and patriotism in public service.

It is expected that Museveni will name a farly young new cabinet to fight rampant corruption and poor utilisation of government resources to ensure delivery of big quality projects and on time .
