MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON PRESIDENTIAL AFFAIRS VISIT KIIRA MOTORS PLANT IN JINJA URGE UGANDANS TO BUY BUSES MADE IN UGANDA

Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Presidential Affairs have inspected the Kiira Motors Vehicle Plant (KVP) in Jinja as part of their oversight duties .The members who have since urged the Ugandans businessmen and transporters to buy the durable Kiira Motors buses where received at the KVP by the company’s Executive Board Chairman , Prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri -Togboa together with the CEO ,Mr. Paul Isaac Musasizi.

The MPs commended Kiira Motors Corporation and the UPDF Engineering Brigade under the National Enterprise corporation (NEC) for setting up a world class vehicle plant the biggest in East and Central Africa and for spear heading Uganda ‘s nascent automotive industry.

Uganda’s automotive industry development captains – Kiira Motors are now taking orders to produce buses for the local , regional and continental markets .

Phase one of the kiira vehicle Plant which has been constructed by the UPDF under NEC is at 98% completion and has capacity to produce 22 buses a day and 5,000 a year . Some of the Kiira Motors products now on the market include the much famed Kayoola EVs – the fully electric buses and the Kayoola Diesel Coaches (KDC).
