JSC Appoints New Deputy Registrars, Chief Magistrates and Magistrates Grade One
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed 18 new judicial officer to take services nearer to the people.
In a statement , JSC said five Deputy Registrars, six Chief Magistrates, and seven Magistrates Grade One had been appointed in compliance with Article 148 of the Constitution.
The new appointees will increase the human resource capacity, reduce case backlog , and improve judicial service delivery across the country .
Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo the deployment of new judicial officers will “significantly enhance access to justice for the people of Uganda,” noting that a strong judicial workforce is essential to the Judiciary’s mission of delivering timely and people-centred justice.
Acting Chief Registrar HW Lamunu Pamella Ocaya said the new officers will expand court coverage and take judicial services closer to communities.
She said the Judiciary will deploy the appointees strategically to ensure maximum and immediate impact.
