Reliable sources have intimated that former Uganda Journalists Association President Joshua Kyalimpa has won the race to become the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development ‘s joint UWEP/YLP program.
While Kyalimpa willbe the communications officer at UWEP/YLP, Frank Mugabi will remain the Communications Officer attached to the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship program . Highly authoritative sources told ugandauodatenews.com that for now there is no position of PRO for the Ministry under their employment and administration structure .
” It is a responsibility assigned by the PS based on need. Mugabi therefore still has responsibility in that regard. Communication experts under different programs of the ministry work together on communication related tasks as may be assigned ,” the highly placed source clarified .
Kyalimpa worked at New Vision as news editor and Radio Simba. He is said to be a strong NRM cadre and an ally of President Yoweri Museveni who mobilized journalists to cover the President’s development agenda when he was a UJA leader . Kyalimpa will report to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry Mr. Aggrey David Kibenge who is the technical head .
