Co-founder of one of Uganda’s leading the entertainment groups -Diamonds Ensemble, former Rubaga South Member of Parliament and one of CBS radio’s long serving presenters ,Paul Kato Lubwama, died from heart complications family sources have revealed .
Lubwama passed on today morning at Stana Medical Centre in Bunamwaya. He was 52 years old. He was born Paul Kato Lubwama as a twin but sadly lost his twin sibling Isaac Wasswa several years ago.
Lubwama has been a performing artist and started his career in the 1990s .
In the 2000s he joined CBS FM and has been a permanent feature on the popular morning show-the Kalisoliso program. He appeared on the show together with other celebrated actors Abby Mukiibi and Patricko Mujjuka.
In 2016 Kato Lubwama -a catholic was elected as the Member of Parliament for Rubaga South on the DP party ticket. At times sounding controversial , during his political tenure , he would tell his constituents that he went to parliament to ” to eat” ( Ugandan speak for earning a living ) and he would often share his parliamentary earnings with the people in Rubaga South constituency .
He ,however, didn’t survive the NUP wave that swept Buganda region in the 2021 general elections and he lost his seat to NUP’s -Aloysius Mukasa.
At the time of his death ,Kato Lubwama had founded B24 TV and launched a YouTube channel thus increasing his social media out reach and fan base..
