Eight Vendors Feared Dead, Several others Critically Injured in Gulu City Road Accident
Eight vendors are feared dead and several others critically injured following night accident in Gulu. The accident occurred along Walter Opwonya Road in the Bardege-Layibi division at around 9 pm.
The accident involved a Diana Truck registration number UBF 743B which was transporting vendors from a mobile market in Lutuk in Nwoya district. The truck was being driven by a man only identified as Anelka who was allegedly over speeding .
According to eye witnesses the truck was carrying about 40 vendors together with their merchandise when it overturned after hitting a pavement and rammed into a wall fence along the road.
The injured were rushed various health facilities including Gulu Regional Referral Hospital and St Mary`s Hospital Lacor.
