Another Sino truck rams into school building in Gomba kills three students , 18 others taken injured
A Sino truck has rammed into a building at Kasaka Senior Secondary School and left three students dead and 18 others injured.
According to the Territorial Police in Gomba -the fatal accident involving a Sino truck registration number UBL 790J took place at around 3:30 PM this afternoon.
Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, said the accident claimed the lives of three students identified as Evelyn Namagembe, a student in form five, Mawanda Bosco, in S2, and Asege Hilda, in S4 and another 18 students were taken to hospital injured.
“It’s alleged that the sino truck driver lost control and rammed into Kasaka Senior Secondary school fence, proceeded through to the school computer Lab that was occupied by students, killing three students on spot and injuring other eighteen (18),” Enanga said.
Police have since arrested Wanume Abudala, 26, for reckless driving. Witnesses said the driver of the vehicle was over speeding on a slippery surface following a heavy downpour .
