800 Tilenga Project Affected Persons Receive Support For Income Generating Activities
Another over 800 Tilenga Project Affected Persons (PAPs) under the Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) 2-5 in Buliisa, Hoima and Kikuube Districts have received income generating starter packs at an event held at Kibambura Playground in Buliisa .
this follows the conclusion of the land acquisition and resettlement activities in the area. To date, 5,553 (99.5%) PAPs have been fully compensated, including 235 physically resettled PAPs in compliance with national laws and international standards.
TotalEnergies EP Uganda has provided transitional support and livelihood restoration initiatives to PAPs, designed to restore and enhance their livelihoods.
Through these initiatives, PAPs have received agricultural inputs and support services for 3 years to improve their production and incomes.
The function was graced by Minister of State in charge of Mineral Development, Phiona Nyamutoro who was accompanied by her counterpart the Minister in charge of Economic Monitoring , Beatrice Akori.
