UGANDA’S LEGENDARY SKIPPER JIMMY KIRUNDA DIES SUDDENLY
Jimmy Kirunda, the man who captained the Uganda Cranes to the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations in 1978 has died.
Kirunda, 70, collapsed suddenly and died near Bwaise in Kampala this morning. Kirunda played on the national team for 15 years and was always known for his discipline.
Working with coach-manager Bidandi Ssali, they shepherded the Cranes to the finals of AFCON 1976, narrowly losing to Ghana 2 – 0
