UGANDA MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION TRADE SHOW WILL BE OFFICIALLY OPENED TODAY BY THE ACFTA SECRETARY GENERAL WAMKELE K. MENE
The Uganda Manufacturers Association Trade Show will be officially opened today by the Secretary General of the African Continent Free Trade Area (ACFTA) Mr. Wamkele Keabetswe Mene, officials have told ugandaupdatenews.com
Newly sworn in Kenyan President William Ruto who is expected to attend Uganda’s 60 years independence celebrations is one of the high profile dignitaries lined-up to visit the trade show being hosted by the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) in partnership with the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation among others.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ,officials said, will close the annual event- which is running at the Lugogo UMA exhibition grounds from October 3 to October 10, 2022.
Executive Director of the UMA Trade Fair, Dan Birungi told the media that both domestic and foreign exhibitors had reserved and paid for booth space to exhibit their products at the UMA exhibition grounds. “We have already confirmed 120 exhibitors from 20 countries,” he added.
The Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation is showcasing one of Uganda’s leading products the Kayoola fully electric buses and the Kayoola Diesel Coach produced by Uganda’s Automotive Industry captains – Kiira Motors Corporation. The Ugandan made vehicles are a big attraction at the trade show.
The trade show was last hosted in 2019 due to the global -novel Covid-19 epidemic. “Harnessing economic recovery through local sourcing and expanding value chain integration” is the theme for this year’s the trade show.
