UCAA Director General Bamwesigye salutes Rotary Club of Garuga for its contribution to the health and education sectors
In a speech read for him by the Corporation Secretary, Mary Hellen Wenene the Director General of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) , Mr. Fred Bamwesigye has noted with gratitude the contribution of the Rotary Club of Garuga to the health and education sector .
“The spirit of Rotary resonates well with UCAA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) vision of building a caring and inclusive society in Uganda and giving back to communities, especially in the vicinity of Entebbe International Airport.
Support for the disadvantaged are among the top priorities on our policy agenda, emphasising the areas of Health, education, religion and sports,” he stated adding that UCAA is committed to creating more opportunities and providing more support for the next generation to unleash their potential.
This was during the Installation Ceremony of the 2nd President of Rotary Club of Garuga at Inter service Beach in Garuga.
Rtn. Julius Muzira was appointment the next President of the Rotary Club of Garuga.
The DG thanked Mr Benjamin Bwanika, the Charter President of the Club, for his sterling contribution and outstanding leadership throughout his tenure.
In this regard, UCAA has previously partnered with almost all the Entebbe corridor Rotary Clubs, including RC Bwerenga, Lubowa, Bwebajja and Entebbe, among others in execution of different projects.
Bamwesigye attested to the power and influence of Rotary-noting that a few years ago, UCAA made a modest contribution to the Rotary Club of Entebbe, which liaised with The Rotary Foundation through the Rotary District 9214 and secured very expensive Orthopeadic Equipment that was recently handed over to Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital.
The moto for the Rotary movement is “Service above Self” and for the last 115 years of development, the association has grown from a four-member club to an international service organisation of over 35 000 member clubs and 1.6 million Rotarians across 200 countries and regions worldwide.
