PM Nabbanja Inspects Roads Works In Kampala Says Completion Deadlines Must Be Met
The Prime Minister ,Robinah Nabbanja has inspected on-going road projects being undertaken in and round Kampala City.
Among the roads inspected include Kyebando Ring Road in Kawempe Division,Masiro-Lugala, Katwe roundabout, Muvabulaya junction as well as 6th,7th, Street and 8th Street.
The Premier was making a follow-up on the progress of the road works to address challenges identified . Major challenges included right-of-way acquisition and delayed service line relocations as major bottlenecks.
Nabbanja called on key utility providers, including Umeme, NITA-U, National Water and Sewerage Corporation, and the Police to enhance their coordination and speed up the shifting of service lines to prevent further delays.
She called on contractors to set up mechanisms to improve on the current pace of construction works.
Nabbanja has also chaired an inter-ministerial meeting and agreed on major interventions to ensure speedy and quality works. The construction of roads will continue throughout the Christmas period in order to meet the set deadlines for completion .
