No Injuries in Queen Elizabeth National Park Bar Aviation Plane Accident
There were no injuries reported when a small plane transporting tourists crash landed near the Mweya Airstrip in Queen Elizabeth park . The plane which was carrying unidentified number of tourists on new year’s eve ,belonged to BAR Aviation a private aviation company.
Sources at Civil Aviation Authority CAA said they were investigating the inccident . Sources in Mweya – Queen Elizabeth Park told this publication that the plane had attempted to land several times but failed due to the presence of animals and on its last attempt crash land hitting a nearby building.
All occupants are said to have survived the accident . A statement released by the air company, the incident followed a mishap while landing.
“The management of Bar Aviation informs the public that one of their aircraft had a mishap on the runway as it landed at Mweya airfield in Queen Elizabeth National Park on Saturday, December, 31, 2022atabout1:15pm.Allpassengers and crew are safe. There are no casualties,” the company said in a statement.
Bar Aviation said their operations continue normally as the investigating body and the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority continue investigating the exact cause of the crash.
