MINISTER NABAKOOBA, MP KIBEDI NSEGUMIRE DONATE DRUGS TO MITYANA HOSPITAL AS NMS IS A NO SHOW
Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba together with Mityana North MP Kibedi Nsegumire have donated drugs to Mityana hospital after it was discovered that the hospital had not received medicines from National Medical Stores (NMS) since September last year .
Prime Minister Hon. Robinah Nabbanja was this week shocked to learn that a pregnant woman had not received medical attention at Mityana hospital because there were no medicines and medical surgical gear . Hospital officials told the Prime Minister who was carrying out an on-spot check on government facilities that they had not received medical supplies from NMS since September last year.
The disclosure infuriated Nabbanja who called the NMS General Manager Mr. Moses Kamabare and instructed him to dispatch medicines to the hospital . Nabbanja explained that NMS had not supplied medicines to the hospital because it was distributing Covid-19 vaccines.
However, this morning , Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba has donated an assortment of medicines to Mityana hospital to cater for the hundreds of patients being treated there. The residents have applauded the Minister and MP Kibedi Nsegumire for their generosity and commitment to ensure that the people of Mityana received quality services from the central government.
