Kampala City Traders Association Boss Sekito Arrested For Assault on Police Officers
Police has arrested Mr. Issa Sekito, the acting Chairman of KACITA, for alleged incitement of violence and assaulting police officers on duty.
Sekito and others were arrested today, Thursday, 6th November, 2025.
Deputy police spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan area, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said the suspects allegedly incited violence and assaulted police officers who were on lawful duty adding that the case file has been forwarded to the Resident State Attorney for perusal and legal advice.
“We continue to urge members of the public to remain calm and desist from acts that may incite violence or threaten the safety of others, particularly those who have chosen to open their shops and continue with normal business in the city centre,” said ASP Owoyesigyire.
He said the Police will maintain a visible presence and deployment within the city centre to deter any illegal activities and ensure that law and order prevail.
