Uganda To Host The 66th International Air Traffic Controllers Conference 2027

Uganda has won the bid to host the 66th International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Association (IFATCA) Conference in 2027.
The announcement was mae during the closing ceremony of the 64th IFATCA conference held over five days in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The decisions followed a competitive and compelling bid by the Uganda Air Traffic Controllers Association (UGATCA), which was well received by the international delegation of member associations.
Ms. Helena Sjöström Falk of Sweden, President and CEO of IFATCA congratulated UGATCA on the successful bid. She later joined the Uganda delegation for a group photo, alongside Mr. Jean Francois Lepage of Canada, IFATCA Deputy President.
This is a major milestone for Uganda’s aviation sector which is managed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and further positions the country as a key player in global air traffic control leadership.
The Uganda Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (UGATCA) is the professional body of Air Traffic Controllers in Uganda, and affiliates to ‘the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations’ (IFATCA), founded through an abiding passion for air traffic control and flight safety in 1961.
UGATCA which was founded under the same passion in October 1981, has over 120 active members, majority of whom are employed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and share the spirit and values of IFATCA as well as the values of their parent organization.
