FDC’s Nandala fires Ssemujju replaces him with lawyer Nsibambi as party Chief Whip
As the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party leadership row deepens its Secretary General Mr.Nandala Mafabi has fired the Chief Whip Kira Municipality Member of Parliament (MP), Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and replaced him with new comer Yusuf Nsibambi.
In a short two paragraph letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, Nandala Mafabi stated that the party has appointed Yusuf Nsibambi as its whip with immediate effect.
“In accordance with section 6 (I), the party hereby appoints Hon. Yusuf Nsibambi as the Party Whip of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to replace Hon Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda,” the letter reads in part.
The FDC party leaders are embroiled in wrangles over “dirty money” allegedly given by the NRM party during the 2021 general elections.
Ssemujju started the infighting after he accused Mafabi and the party president Mr. Patrick Amuriat of picking money from President Museveni to fund their 2021 campaigns. Nandala and Amuriat have since denied ever taking money from NRM and instead counter accused Ssemujju of various financial inappropriateness .
