SHEILA NATURINDA BECOMES 27th PRESIDENT OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF KAMPALA CENTRAL
The vocal Communication and Media Specialists, Ms. Sheila Naturinda has been installed the new 27th President of the Rotary Club of Kampala Central and pledged to continue with the club’s long held tradition to serve humanity .
She was installed on 24th June by the former Rotary District Governor Ken Mugisha, at a function hosted by the Rt Honorable Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mr. Jacob Oulanyah who is an Honorary Member of the Club.
In attendance was also the current District Governor Rosetti Nabumba, the Assistant Governor, also ED LDC Nigel Frank Othembi and Sheila’s husband, Mr Joshua Tumwiine.
In her new role ,Naturinda has promised to raise at least 20,000 USD for the Rotary Foundation and 3000USD for Polio Plus in addition to providing clean water for Buyinja Primary School in Mpigi district-by drilling a borehole. “ Under Mission Green we shall plant trees at St Pauls Seminary Nyenga, start and train members of a SACCO in Lukwanga Wakiso district to provide financial empowerment to the Rotary Community corps,” she said.
She said her club will also support vocational training of carpentry for Lubiri secondary school in Lukwanga and rehabilitate the Freda Carr Ngora Hospital. The Deputy Speaker ,Mr. Oulanyah contributed US dollars 10,000 for the club’s community empowerment undertakings .
