Energy Minister Nankabirwa Calls For Collaboration To Unlock Uganda’s Mineral Sector Potential


Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, is hosting the 14th Annual Mineral Wealth Conference the event that focuses on ‘Sustainable Mineral Development Through Collaboration, Innovation, and Green Transitions hence unlocking Potential for a Resilient Future.

The conference featured a robust program with presentations and panel discussions led by local and international experts. Key topics including mineral sector governance and regulation, licensing in Uganda’s extractive sector, climate change and the extractives sector, and
investment opportunities in Uganda and the region.

During the conference the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development ,Ruth Nankabirwa showed the need to work together to unlock Uganda’s mineral potential.

“ we need to collaborate, this engagement provides us with the opportunity to deepen our partnership and to work together to unlock the events potential of Uganda’s natural resources.” she said

The conference provided a unique platform for stakeholders to engage in high-level discussions, networking, and business-to-business meetings, ultimately promoting opportunities in thesourcing and development of critical minerals.

It also attracted a diverse array of stakeholders, including government officials, mining companies, banking and financing institutions, investors, consultants, and legal experts with over 1,500 delegates, 50 speakers, and 55 exhibitors expected, this conference is a significant
step towards unlocking Uganda’s mineral wealth potential.

The 14th Mineral Wealth Conference is a testament to Uganda’s growing importance in the mining industry and is expected to foster partnerships and promote opportunities in the sourcing and development of critical minerals.
